We are a group of students from HKU Master of Fine Art. When creating a collective showing of our process, there are connections, but also collisions. In as if mistake becomes a place we focus on the encounters that emerge as we (dis)connect, (dis)assemble, (dis)associate, (dis)locate, (dis)band and (dis)appear.

The mistake becomes a place of encounter, accidental conflicts open cracks, where air enters in. A practice that can hold our fear and hug us until the feeling subsides. A space for unlikely companionships to be made, a lamp that guides each performance, discussions on park benches with no specific purpose. What is lost creates space for the new, communities of mess, gaps of embellishment, anthologies of discombobulation. We invite you to inhabit these spaces with us.

Een tentoonstelling en collectieve bibliotheek van de studenten van de HKU Master of Fine Art

Wij zijn een groep studenten van de HKU Master of Fine Art. In een collectieve presentatie van ons proces ontstaan er verbindingen, maar ook botsingen. In as if mistake becomes a place richten we ons op de ontmoetingen die ontstaan wanneer we (ont)koppelen, (her)stellen, (ont)hechten, (ver)plaatsen, (ont)binden en verdwijnen/verschijnen.

De fout wordt een plek van ontmoeting, toevallige botsingen openen barsten die lucht binnen laten. Een praktijk die onze angst kan vasthouden en ons omhelst tot het gevoel wegebt. Een ruimte waar onwaarschijnlijke verbindingen kunnen ontstaan, een lamp die elke performance begeleidt, gesprekken op parkbankjes zonder specifiek doel. Wat verloren gaat, schept ruimte voor het nieuwe: gemeenschappen van rommel, gaten van versiering, anthologieën van ontregeling. We nodigen je uit om deze ruimtes met ons te betreden.

14:00 – 16:00: The Voice is in the Stitch, talk about embroidery research + collective ‘stitch and bitch’ with Anya Palamartschuk

Friday 19th December
15:00 – 17:00: RE-writing dialogues in a comic world, comics puzzle game + writing dialogues with fictional people and animals, by YellowMotelComfort

Sporadic and Ongoing
sound & text at the meeting point of companionship, improvised interference, collaboration, translation and performance amongst the objects of the collective library, accompanied by spoken word and in-the-moment sounds by Emily Ghazal and fatemeh bagheri études, whistling exercises at haphazard times by levin eric zimmermann
