A window exhibition: experimental furniture by 11 students of HKU Product Design

Due to the lockdown, we are unfortunately unable to welcome visitors into the space, but for one week MOVABLES can be viewed ànd experienced through the windows of AG. Via QR codes you are able to access photos, videos and extra information about the specific furniture concepts.

The exhibition MOVABLES  is the outcome of a series of lessons on furniture design for a group of second year students. Important starting points within the assignment were questions of usability, the actions performed with a specific product and its relationship with the user. On a more conceptual level, a piece of furniture can also be seen as a carrier of meanings with which a story can be told.

These principles resulted in 11 different experimental approaches to what a piece of furniture can be and can do. Get to know a very sensitive chair, a parasitic and a quirky tilting cabinet, a playful beanbag and more…
