De stad kan avontuurlijk zijn, je verleiden en je mee voeren, maar ze kan ook bedreigend zijn en maakt soms eenzaam. In de expositie Sound & the City 4 wordt een relatie van de stad en haar geluid verbeeld in zes werken die beeld en audio combineren. Het uitgangspunt voor het werk dat tijdens dit jaarlijks terugkerende onderwijsproject ontstaat, is vaak persoonlijk en verhalend van karakter. Vanuit verschillende perspectieven belichten zes derde- en vierdejaars studenten van HKU voor hen kenmerkende aspecten van de stad. De aanwezigheid van de mens speelt daarbij een belangrijke rol, maar ook het zichtbaar maken van wat in de stad en het stedelijk leven soms onopvallend is en besloten ligt.

The city can be adventurous, seduces you and carries you along, but it can also be threatening and sometimes makes you lonely. The exhibition Sound & the City 4 envisions a relationship of the city and its sound in six works that combine image and audio. The starting point for the work created during this annual educational project is often personal and narrative. From different perspectives, six third- and fourth-year HKU students highlight aspects of the city that are characteristic to them. Human presence plays an important role in this, but also the visualization of elements in the city and urban life which are sometimes inconspicuous.
